I started the Current Consulting Group (CCG) in September of 1998. And I am thrilled to celebrate our 22nd anniversary with an expression of gratitude to the great community of drug testing providers and their clients for whom it has been our privilege to serve and support.
When I started CCG some 22 years ago, then known as WFC & Associates, I was a one-man show—no cofounder, no associates, just an administrative assistant whom I couldn’t afford. But I founded CCG based on the concept that a team of experts with experience in virtually every aspect of drug testing could be of great value to the industry. And that is what CCG has been, a team. Over the years some of the industry’s top experts have served as CCG consultants before moving on to other opportunities, though our core team remains the same all these years later.
In a 2019 survey of TPAs, labs, MROs, and collectors, Current Consulting Group was voted the #1 recognized brand name in drug testing consulting.
Through our Compliance Consulting department, CCG is still writing drug testing policies and maintaining Current Compliance, the most comprehensive and up to date on-line resource for state drug testing laws. We also offer great on-line supervisor training and employee education courses for DOT and non-DOT workplaces.
Through our Business Development Consulting department, we’re still helping drug testing providers promote their brand and expand their market share. CCG probably participates in and hosts more webinars than any other company or organization in the industry. We write articles, blogs and white papers, publish newsletters, create content for clients’ websites, develop marketing plans and sales strategies, create printed and electronic marketing materials, and help manage clients’ social media presence.
Wow—22 years! To quote the Grateful Dead (who probably helped create the drug testing industry in a roundabout sort of way), “What a Long Strange Trip It’s Been.” Along the way, I have met and maintained friendships with some of the best people on the planet. Hard-working, honest, and fair professionals who really know their stuff and have done so much to make my career possible. As well, CCG has been blessed with a lot of really good clients. There are too many special associates to start mentioning names, but I hope you know who you are because you are a very special part of the CCG success story.
