Policy & Review Services
The first step in the policy development process is to identify your company’s drug testing objectives. Depending on your industry, CCG provides a carefully designed questionnaire to help accurately identify drug testing objectives.
The policy incorporates the program considerations as outlined in the questionnaire to carefully construct a comprehensive policy and includes, but is not limited to thorough language for each of the following policy components:
• State law
• Voluntary law
• Federal law
• DOT regulations
• Coverage
• Drug & alcohol test types as procedures
• Medical and/or recreational marijuana including CBD
• Prohibited conduct
• Consequences
Upon questionnaire completion the first draft of the policy commences. Once the final draft is received and reviewed, if necessary, CCG will make any needed changes to the policy to finalize it.
State Law Addendum
Companies that have operations or employees in multiple states may be subject to testing requirements and procedures that vary from the company policy. Therefore, an addendum is created to include the legal requirements for a state that differs from the main content found in the base policy. Where a condition of the policy and addendum to the policy conflict, the condition of the addendum controls. Language can also be added to reflect legal requirements in a state’s workers’ and/or unemployment compensation denial laws, as well as workers’ compensation premium discount law.
